Ferrie Lecture 2024 – Dr William B. Fullilove

“Why Bother if It’s All Going to Burn Up Anyway?”. Join us for our annual public lecture as Dr. William B. Fullilove helps us wrestle through creation care and a broader biblical approach to culture in light of 2 Peter 3.
The Bible gives a beautiful vision of people working for a flourishing human culture, and yet Peter writes in the New Testament that “Both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” (2 Peter 3:10, as translated in the NKJV). Well, if so, why bother? Why bother with creation care, with art, with music, with human culture? The misunderstanding of Peter’s words has tragically contributed to Christians abandoning our culture when we should be forming it, but if we understand him rightly we will care for this world, not simply wait for it to burn.
Entry is FREE, but registration is essential. Please arrive at 7pm for a 7:15pm start.
Dr. William B. Fullilove is the Professor of Old Testament and Dean of Students at Reformed Theological Seminary, NYC.
