Covenant and Commandment: Works, obedience and faithfulness in the Christian life

Special Intensive with Bradley G. Green
The role of works, obedience and faithfulness in the Christian life is an important question for Christian discipleship. The Bible is clear that God alone saves his people, by his grace alone, in Christ alone, through faith alone. At the same time, God’s Word is equally clear that God expects his people to obey his commands. As Martin Luther put it: "God saves his people through faith alone, but never by a faith that is alone.” But how are we to understand the relationship between God’s grace, Christ’s work, the believer’s faith and the believer’s obedience? Clarity on this important question is crucial to faithful gospel preaching and grace-enabled Christian living.
