Christ College Kickstart Scholarship

The Christ College Kickstart Scholarship assists a new full-time student who must relocate from regional NSW to Sydney to undertake accredited theological study at Christ College.

The scholarship may assist with reasonable relocation and accommodation costs that enable the recipient to commence and continue their studies.

In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must:

• ordinarily reside in regional NSW before commencing study;
• be commencing their first AUT-accredited units through Christ College;
• intend to study full-time;
• demonstrate that relocation is necessary to undertake their proposed studies; and
• demonstrate financial or other circumstances that make relocation assistance important to their ability to study.

Selection will be based on the applicant’s suitability for theological study and ministry, the strength of their proposed study and ministry plans, and the extent of their relocation and financial needs.

The scholarship may be paid in instalments. Support in the second year is subject to reapplication, satisfactory academic progress, continued full-time enrolment and continuing eligibility.

Christ College Tuition Scholarship

The Christ College Tuition Scholarship assists students undertaking an AUT-accredited course through Christ College.

Each scholarship will cover up to 50% of the recipient’s eligible tuition fees for their approved 2027 study load. Based on the 2027 AUT fee schedule, the maximum for a full-time 96-credit-point load is:

• $12,168 for Level 5-7 coursework; or
• $13,728 for Level 8-9 coursework.

The actual value will depend on the recipient’s course level and enrolled study load. The scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s tuition account and has no cash value.

Applicants must satisfy the general eligibility criteria. Selection will be based on demonstrated potential and preparedness for theological study and ministry, the expected benefit of the proposed training, church support, and relevant equity considerations.

Christ College Partnership Scholarship

The Christ College Partnership Scholarship assists students to undertake theological education with the prayerful and financial support of churches and individual supporters.

Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Fund Committee through a competitive process based on the general eligibility and selection criteria. Each successful applicant may receive an initial scholarship of up to $1,000.

Following selection, supporters may donate to the Christ College Scholarship Fund and express a non-binding preference that their donation support a particular approved scholarship recipient. All donations remain under the control of the Scholarship Fund. The Fund Committee retains absolute discretion over the use of donations and the awarding and payment of scholarships.

Subject to the Scholarship Fund’s terms and the recipient’s continuing eligibility, the Fund generally aims to apply up to 90% of donations associated with an approved recipient’s supporter network towards that recipient’s scholarship. At least 10% is retained to support scholarships for other students.

A donor’s preference does not create an entitlement for either the donor or the preferred recipient, and Christ College cannot accept donations subject to a legally binding direction that they be paid to a particular person.

Christ College HDR Scholarship

The Christ College HDR Scholarship supports a suitably qualified candidate undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Ministry (DMin) through the Australian University of Theology at Christ College.

The scholarship will cover 50% of the recipient’s eligible full-time HDR tuition fees. Based on the 2027 AUT fee schedule, this is $12,360 for a full-time PhD or DMin student in 2027.

The scholarship may continue for up to three years of full-time candidature. Continued support is subject to satisfactory annual progress, continued enrolment through Christ College, compliance with AUT candidature requirements and continued satisfaction of the scholarship conditions. The annual amount may change if AUT tuition fees change.

In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must:

• meet the admission requirements for the AUT PhD or DMin, as applicable;
• propose a viable research or ministry project that can be appropriately supervised through Christ College; and
• demonstrate the potential contribution of their research or ministry project to theological scholarship, the church or Christian ministry.

Selection will be based principally on academic merit, the quality and feasibility of the research proposal, preparedness for the proposed HDR course, supervisory fit, and the potential contribution of the research. Relevant equity considerations may also be taken into account.

Christ College Women in Ministry Tuition Scholarship

The Christ College Women in Ministry Tuition Scholarship supports a woman undertaking accredited theological study to prepare for Christian ministry or leadership.

The scholarship will cover up to 50% of the recipient’s eligible 2027 tuition fees. For a full-time 96-credit-point load, the maximum is $12,168 for Level 5-7 coursework or $13,728 for Level 8-9 coursework. The actual value will depend on the recipient’s course level and enrolled study load.

The scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s tuition account and has no cash value.

In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must:

• be a woman commencing or undertaking an AUT-accredited course through Christ College;
• demonstrate a clear intention to use her theological education in Christian ministry, leadership or service; and
• explain how the scholarship would assist her to undertake the proposed study.

Selection will be based on ministry potential and preparedness, the relationship between the proposed study and the applicant’s ministry intentions, church support, and relevant equity considerations.

Christ College MTW Accredited Study Scholarship

The Christ College MTW Accredited Study Scholarship encourages new Ministry Training for Women students to undertake the MTW program as accredited AUT study.

Each scholarship provides $500 towards the tuition fees for two 3-credit-point MTW units in 2027. Subject to satisfactory completion and continued eligibility, recipients may receive a further $500 towards the remaining two units in the following year. The maximum total scholarship is $1,000 per recipient.

The scholarship is available only for MTW units in which the recipient is formally enrolled for AUT credit through Christ College. It does not apply to non-accredited attendance.

In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must:

• be a new MTW student;
• enrol for AUT credit in two eligible MTW units during 2027;
• demonstrate how the accredited study will equip them for ministry or service; and
• demonstrate merit and/or financial, family, ministry or other circumstances relevant to equitable access to accredited study.

Selection will be based on preparedness and potential for theological study and ministry, church support, the anticipated benefit of completing MTW for credit, and relevant equity considerations.
