Reaching billions in need of the Gospel with Vijai Singh Tagore

For many students like Vijai, a scholarship is the only way they can afford to be theologically trained to a high level, in a rich community of fellowship, academic rigor and biblical faithfulness. Vijai shares, “I would not have been able to study and be trained if there were no scholarships available. Christ College scholarships have helped the college in India to have better-equipped lecturers who will in return train hundreds and thousands of local church leaders and church planters in India. The country India has more than a billion people still needing to hear the gospel.”

A heart for sharing the gospel with those in need

Frances and Sander Brouwer are a married couple who both started studying at Christ College this year, 2022. They met in 2015 when they were both doing relief work in South Sudan. Even before they began dating, they shared a desire to equip themselves for life and work as Christians through theological training.

Elliot Ku on Christ College as a place of leadership, learning and liturgy

Elliot describes beginning at Christ College with a focus on being a high achiever. An early conversation in his pastoral care group however changed his perspective. Elliot shares, “One of my lecturers in pastoral groups said ‘We don’t want you to be getting A’s at college and F’s at home. This really struck me as I had been so focussed on doing well academically I was willing to let everything else suffer. But God hasn’t made us as one-dimensional people.”

From the Navy to the Church with Christ College Graduate David Hastie

For Christ College 2021 graduate David Hastie, the day to day of college was a far cry from his previous vocation. After finishing school in 2004, David joined the Navy as a part of the Australian Defense Force. For over 14 years he drove ships and did clearance diving, then he decided to go into full-time ministry. David shares, “I felt called to go into ministry as a chaplain. So in order to fulfil that, I was led to study at Christ College full-time.”
